"Thank you for your interest in covering the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, to be held on Sunday, August 20. I am pleased to be able to tell you that we have approved your application for media credentials.
"Your credentials can be picked up in person, with proper photo identification, at the Pebble Beach Concours media center … which is sponsored this year by Infiniti… .
"Situated directly across from the conference center of The Lodge at Pebble Beach, the Infiniti Media Center is a fully functioning pressroom for working media members. In addition to credentials, media kits and daily media updates will be distributed from this location, and briefings and interviews will take place there. The center offers wireless Internet access for laptops, wired computer workstations, lockers (bring your own lock to ensure security), a lounge area, and periodic snack and beverage service.
"In early July, we will send you a media gate pass for the week of Concours, and additional information regarding media events, opportunities, and resources. … . Concours week kicks off with the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance on Thursday, August 17. This event allows media members and spectators an opportunity to see and photograph the 2006 Concours entries in motion. All Concours entries are encouraged to participate in the Tour, and such participation plays a role in class competition at the Concours; if there is a tie in class competition, cars that have successfully completed the Tour have the advantage. Other events related to the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours include the Blackhawk Collection's Exposition of Classic Cars, open from August 16 through 20; the second annual RetroAuto, a pavilion open August 18 through 20 featuring automotive memorabilia, luxury goods and the lates technological tools; and The Pebble Beach Auction presented by Gooding & Company, which will take place on the evening of August 20.
